Configuring ServiceNow Integration with Service Graph Connector Plugin
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on integrating Endpoint Central with ServiceNow using Service Graph Connector for efficient data sharing and management. There are two primary methods for achieving this integration:
Integration Methods
- Basic Integration: Offers a basic exchange of data between the two platforms. To know more about basic integration, refer documentation.
- Service Graph Connector Plugin (Recommended): Provides advanced functionalities like standardized CI maintenance and seamless integration with the SAM pro plugin.
Why Use Service Graph Connector for ServiceNow Integration?
-
Advanced Asset Intelligence
It goes beyond basic data transfer. It provides real-time synchronization of hardware and software asset data, including automatic Configuration Item (CI) maintenance within your ServiceNow CMDB. This eliminates manual updates and ensures your CMDB reflects the latest device information.
-
Automated CI Linking and Change Management
Service Graph Connector automatically links discovered devices to their corresponding CIs in ServiceNow. It also captures changes in the endpoint environment, allowing for better change management processes. You'll have a clear picture of how changes impact CIs and the overall IT infrastructure.
-
Data Accuracy and Clean CMDB
The connector employs duplicate data detection during import, preventing inconsistencies and maintaining a clean ServiceNow CMDB. This is crucial for accurate reporting and informed decision-making.
-
Seamless Integration with SAM Pro Plugin
Service Graph Connector facilitates a tight integration with ServiceNow's SAM Pro plugin. This unlocks functionalities like software usage monitoring, providing a comprehensive view of your IT asset landscape.
In essence, Service Graph Connector offers a more robust and automated integration, ensuring your ServiceNow CMDB reflects the real state of your IT environment with up-to-date and accurate asset data. This translates to better service management, informed decision-making, and streamlined IT operations.

- Enter your ServiceNow URL, username, and password.
- Click "Next".
Features to be Integrated
This section allows you to configure data synchronization between Endpoint Central and ServiceNow using the Service Graph Connector Plugin.
- Asset data post on every scan: Enable this option to automatically send asset data to ServiceNow after every Endpoint Central scan.
- Post the software last used time to ServiceNow SAM: Track and send the last recorded time a software was used on a device.
- Auto-Assign Owner for Workstation: Automatically assign a ServiceNow user as the owner for a workstation based on the user who most recently logged in. User mapping to Service Graph will occur automatically once every hour.
Important: Ensure users in Endpoint Central have the same User IDs as those in ServiceNow for user mapping to work seamlessly.
