Modern authentication techniques in Microsoft 365 include multi-factor authentication, certificate-based authentication, smart cards and more. By default modern authentication is enabled for Exchange Online tenants created after August 2017 (For Outlook 2013 and later clients).
If you want to manually enable or disable modern authentication for some tenants you have to use the Exchange Online PowerShell’s Set-OrganizationConfig cmdlet. However, M365 Manager Plus saves the time that goes into the scripting process by offering handy management options. This product helps you configure multi-factor authentication (MFA) for multiple users at a given time easily. To enable MFA settings, follow the steps given below:
- Login to M365 Manager Plus.
- Click on the Management tab.
- Navigate to Azure Active Directory > User Management > Bulk User Modification.
- Choose the MFA Settings option.
- Choose to Enforce, Enable or Disable the settings.
- Select the Allowed MFA Methods and one Default MFA Method from the drop-downs.
- Choose the Microsoft 365 Tenant.
- You can then either enter the name of specific users separated by commas or import a CSV file containing the user details.
- Once the users are found and selected, or imported successfully, click on Apply.
