You can sync your SharePoint and Microsoft Teams files to a folder in your computer if you have a Microsoft 365 work or school subscription. This will allow you to work on these files while you are offline, and the changes you make will be automatically synced when you are back online. Below are the steps to sync SharePoint and Microsoft tTeams content to a local folder:
Note: Ensure that you do the following steps on the computer in which you want the files to be synced. To sync the files in multiple computers, repeat the same process in each of them.
- From SharePoint or Teams, go to the site from which you want to sync files.
- Go to Documents or select the subfolder you want to sync.
- Click on the Sync icon.
- Give permission to your browser to use Microsoft OneDrive, if requested. This will automatically create a folder on your computer and sync all the content/files in it. The name of this folder will be your organization's name.
- Every site will be associated with a specific folder in which its content will be synced. These folders will be automatically assigned, and you can't choose or change the folders.
- To choose different folders or stop syncing, click on the blue OneDrive cloud icon in the Windows taskbar notification area. From there, go to Settings → Accounts, and change the sync settings for the corresponding sites.
