List of OneDrive limitations

1. No individual file (not the total storage) above 100 GB can be uploaded or synced to OneDrive.
2. The entire decoded file path name that will be a part of the file URL must not contain more than 400 characters. On exceeding the limits you will receive an error message.
3. No thumbnails and PDF previews are generated for images and files above 100 MB respectively.
4. When using onedrive.com, you can only copy up to 2500 files at one time and while syncing with SharePoint Online, 300000 files is the recommended limit in order to avoid performance issues.
5. Differential sync for Microsoft files in the formats, .docx, .pptx, .xlsx is possible only in certain advanced versions (17.3.6386.0412 or higher) of OneDrive and only if the Use Office applications to sync files setting is turned on.
6. If you have OneDrive libraries (location to store files backed by a team site) with checkout, required or validation columns or some other required metadata, it will not permit syncing.
7. The OneDrive sync app only supports user profiles that can write to OneDrive application directories. Hence the roaming (redirects user profiles to a file share), mandatory (roaming profile with read-only rights) and temporary Windows profiles are not supported.
8. Case-sensitive formatted disk (hard drive formatted in a particular format) volume isn't supported for OneDrive in macOS.
