Modern Authentication in Teams facilitates simple and secure single sign-on experience and refrains users from entering their credentials in multiple platforms to sign-in. For Windows platform, if users have already entered their credentials in any of the Microsoft 365 apps or signed into Windows using their work or school account, they need not enter their credentials again when the Teams app is launched. However, if the multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled for the Teams app, then the user has to just verify their identity when they launch the app. If the MFA has been configured to login into the domain-joined systems, then there won't be any MFA verification at the time of Team app launch.
MacOS users in Teams are required to enter their credentials and satisfy the MFA requirements of the organization. Once this is done, users need not enter the credentials again and the Teams app automatically starts when working on that computer.
After completing Modern Authentication, users can sign out of the Teams app by clicking on the Log out option in their profile. Once they sign out of Teams, they need to enter their credentials again to launch the app.
