- A single forest that contains authoritative user identities and hosts the Skype for Business Server.
- Multiple forests of which only one hosts Skype for Business Server, and other forests contain authoritative user identities.
- Multiple deployments of Skype for Business Server in multiple forests. When certain requirements are met, these multiple deployments can be consolidated into a single Microsoft 365 organization.
