Interop Las Vegas, Booth 1859, May 12, 2011 -- ManageEngine, makers of a globally renowned suite of cost effective network, systems and security management software solutions, today announced OpManager Enterprise Edition (beta), a new version of the company’s flagship network server and IT infrastructure management software platform. The new version features enterprise-level capabilities and a distributed architecture supporting the monitoring of more than 50,000 interfaces or 5000 servers through a single management console.

The new OpManager Enterprise Edition is designed around a probe and central server architecture, which allows it to scale to meet the network monitoring and management needs of large enterprises. The new architecture allows administrators to gain visibility across remote locations, as well as consolidate and report on network and server health from a central location.

"We want to make OpManager more scalable, reliable, and usable so that it can handle the large enterprise IT management needs. The new enterprise edition delivers greater scalability with a max of 10,000 interfaces on each probe and 50,000 interfaces on the central server," said Dev Anand, product manager, Network Performance Management Solutions. "ManageEngine OpManager is fast becoming a low-cost but high-quality alternative across many large enterprises. In most cases we replace tools that are unnecessarily complicated and way too expensive for what they do. Smart and cost conscious IT managers figure it out real quick that OpManager can do 90% of what their existing software can do at a cost that’s less than the renewal cost of these well marketed tools"

Other highlights of the new OpManager Enterprise Edition include:

  • A secure and robust communication between the central and the remote probe servers through XML over HTTPS⁄ HTTP connection.
  • 100 percent data integrity, even in the event of a connection loss between the central and probe servers, by using local database support.
  • A centralized console to visualize performance bottlenecks across an entire IT infrastructure, and/or for a specific remote site.
  • Reduced application maintenance cost with intelligent probe upgrades from the central server.
  • Ability to scale the network monitoring needs as the company grows by switching a stand–alone instance of OpManager to a remote probe on–the–fly.
  • Eliminates feature catch–ups. Always in-sync with the features, functions and upgrades offered by OpManager standalone versions.
