AdventNet partners with TalariaX for SMS alerts capability

Pleasanton, California, October 3, 2005

AdventNet today announced a strategic partnership with TalariaX, a leader in SMS-based alerting systems, to send SMS alerts over GSM/CDMA networks from its network monitoring software, OpManager. Existing customers of OpManager can use this utility at special promotional pricing. Details on how this solution increases network administrator productivity is available at:

Advances in technology bring greater challenges in managing the network infrastructure. IT Managers across the globe strive to reduce network outages by employing best practices and quality network management tools. OpManager assists them by proactively monitoring their critical resources for health and availability and notifying relevant operators through email and SMS. The new SMS server component reduces the time to react-to-failure further by reaching them through a more reliable channel.

"Network problems force operators to work irregular schedules, so it’s hard for them to be continuously checking emails at their desks, when network failure occurs. Sending out SMS alerts to them helps achieve the first goal – instant communication,"said Wong Jeat Shyan, CEO, TalariaX. "This functionality is fail-proof as it uses a GSM/CDMA modem to shoot SMSs directly to the operator’s mobile phone without depending on the corporate email-server or the Internet link," he added.

"Currently, OpManager customers use the email-based SMS alerts. Through this partnership, they can now choose to send SMS alerts directly to mobile phones using the SMS servers. We are glad to provide this function in a timely manner, as many of our customers have been asking for it in recent days," said Girish Mathrubootham, Product Manager at AdventNet, Inc. "SendQuick SMS servers have been tested with OpManager for interoperability and we are happy with the results," he added.
