How to monitor Office 365

Microsoft 365 admin center's Service Health Dashboard (SHD) shows the Office 365 service health status. The absence of real-time alerts compels IT admins to keep an eye on the SHD to know about service outage, incident, and advisory that might occur any time.

With O365 Manager Plus by your side, you will never be in the dark about Office 365 service outages and incidents. It monitors the health and performance of all the Office 365 services 24x7, and sends out real-time email notification to the admin once a service outage, incident, or advisory is detected.

Monitor Office 365 service health with O365 Manager Plus

O365 Manager Plus comes with some default monitoring profiles to monitor your entire Office 365 infrastructure. You can also create your own monitoring profiles based on your requirements.

How to create a monitoring profile in O365 Manager Plus

  • Go to the Settings tab of O365 Manager Plus.
  • Choose Configuration → Monitoring Configuration → Monitoring Profiles from the left pane.
  • Click on dd New Profile.
  • Enter a Profile Name, and choose the Office 365 Service and Category for which the profile is being created.
  • Select the Components to Monitor using the + button.
  • Write the Alert Message to be sent when an incident/advisory is detected.
  • Using the Advanced Configuration option, configure the email notification for this monitoring profile.
  • Under the Notification tab,
    1. Select the Email alerts corresponding to this profile checkbox.
    2. Select the notification template to be used.
    3. Using the Notify On drop-down, select the event for which an email notification must be sent.
    4. Using the Notify drop-down, select when the email notification must be sent.
    5. Select the Include Event Details check box to include a detailed report on the event that triggers the notification.
    6. Click on Save.

  • Under the Endpoint Settings tab,
    1. In the Health Criteria section, configure the endpoint response time based on which incident or advisory should be determined.
    2. In the Polling Frequency section, configure the number of times polling should be retried when the endpoint availability status changes from up to down, and down to up.
    3. In the Polling Timeout section, configure how long the tool should wait to timeout a polling.

  • Click on Save.
