How to create a new Azure Policy Definition using Azure PowerShell.

Description:

Policy definitions describe compliance conditions and what needs to be done if a condition is met. The New-AzPolicyDefinition cmdlet creates a new policy definition that includes policy rule in JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) format.

Syntax:

New-AzPolicyDefinition -Name <String> [-DisplayName <String>] [-Description <String>] -Policy <String> [-Metadata <String>] [-Parameter <String>] [-Mode <String>] [-ApiVersion <String>] [-Pre] [-DefaultProfile <IAzureContextContainer>] [<CommonParameters>]

Example: The command below creates a policy definition named LocationDefinition that contains the policy rule specified in C:\LocationPolicy.json. Example content for the LocationPolicy.json file is provided in the box below.
