Description:

The Test-AzResourceGroupDeployment cmdlet is used to check whether an Azure group deployment template and its corresponding parameter values are valid.

Syntax:

Test-AzResourceGroupDeployment -ResourceGroupName <String> [-Mode <DeploymentMode>] [-RollbackToLastDeployment] [-RollBackDeploymentName <String>] -TemplateFile <String> [-SkipTemplateParameterPrompt] [-ApiVersion <String>] [-Pre] [-DefaultProfile <IAzureContextContainer>] [<CommonParameters>]

Example:

$TemplateFileText = [System.IO.File]::ReadAllText("D:\Azure\Templates\Test.json") $TemplateObject = ConvertFrom-Json $TemplateFileText -AsHashtable Test-AzResourceGroupDeployment -ResourceGroupName "RGroup1" -TemplateObject $TemplateObject -TemplateParameterFile "D:\Azure\Templates\TestParams.json"

This example shows how to use the Test-AzResourceGroupDeployment cmdlet to validate a deployment in the RGroup1 resource group using an in-memory hashtable created from the template file Test.json and parameter file TestParams.json.
