How to update a set of tags on an Azure subscription or resource using PowerShell cmdlets.

Description:

Executing the Update-AzTag cmdlet allows you to selectively update a set of tags specified by a ResourceId on an Azure resource or subscription. The Update-AzTag cmdlet can be used to selectively merge, replace or delete tags on the specified resource or subscription.

Syntax:

Update-AzTag -ResourceId <String> -Operation <TagPatchOpeation> -Tag <Hashtable> [-DefaultProfile <IAzureContextContainer>] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>]

Example:

$mergedTags = @{"key1"="V1"; "key3"="V3";} Update-AzTag -ResourceId /subscriptions/{subId} -Tag $mergedTags -Operation Merge

This example shows how Update-AzTag cmdlet is used to update the set of tags on the subscription specified by its subId with merge operation.
