Event ID 4886 – Certificate Services Received A Certificate Request

Event 4886 is logged when the Certificate Services receives a certificate request. The request is then evaluated, and the relevant template is loaded if the request is found to be appropriate. Consequently, the request will be placed either in the Pending Requests folder, or will be immediately issued, or will be denied.

For this event to be logged, the corresponding feature of "Issue and manage certificate requests" needs to be enabled in the CA's properties tab.

This log has the following information:

  • Request ID
  • Requester
  • Attributes

Why does event ID 4886 need to be monitored?
