What is Accounts:Block Microsoft accounts setting?

This security setting, if enabled, blocks Microsoft accounts from using Single Sign On (SSO) authentication to access Microsoft services or other applications or services. Enabling this setting can work in two ways,

  • Users will not be allowed to create new Microsoft accounts, but existing accounts can access applications and services.
  • Users will not be allowed to create new Microsoft accounts or login with existing ones.

This setting can be accessed by navigating to Local Security Policy > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options > Accounts: Block Microsoft accounts
