What is DCOM: Machine Launch Restrictions in Security Descriptor Definition Language (SDDL) syntax setting?

This security setting places restrictions on launching or activating DCOM applications, locally or remotely. Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) is a software that allows a computer to run applications remotely on other computers. This setting is enabled by defining the security descriptor in the place given. The security descriptor is an Access Control List (ACL) against which each launch request is checked before the request is granted.
