Health Status of Monitors

The Health of a monitor is a measure of its overall quality, determined based on the parameters it is dependent on. By configuring thresholds for chosen dependencies, users can assess the overall performance level of a monitor by simply looking at its Health status. Learn more.

How is the Health status of a monitor determined?

The Health status of a monitor is established based on the number of alarms triggered. If a monitor crosses the pre-defined threshold set for a dependent attribute, such as response time, it triggers its respective alarm. This causes the performance quality of the monitor to decline, thus forcing its health status to change.

Possible Health statuses include:

  • Clear: No thresholds were violated. All the dependant attributes are in a clear state.

  • Warning: A threshold was violated. One or two of the dependant attributes are in a warning state.

  • Critical: More than a few thresholds were violated. Either a majority of, or all the dependant attributes are in a critical state.
