Nutanix Multi-Cluster Monitoring

Overview

ManageEngine Applications Manager provides centralized Nutanix multi-cluster monitoring capabilities by leveraging Prism Central for cluster discovery. This monitor helps IT teams automatically identify and onboard all Nutanix clusters managed under a Prism Central instance, ensuring streamlined management of large-scale Nutanix infrastructures.

  2. Specify the Display Name for the monitor.
  3. Enter the Prism Central Hostname / IP address.
  4. Specify the Port at which Prism Central is running. The default port is 9440.
  5. If you choose the Use Below Credentialsoption, enter the Prism Central credentials:
    • UserName — Username with permission to access Prism Central.
    • Password — Password for the above user.
  6. If you choose the Select from credential list option, select a configured credential from the list.
  7. Specify an optional Discovery Filter (regex) to discover only matching Nutanix clusters.
  8. Select the Action on Deleted Resource:
    • Retain
    • Unmanage
    • Delete
  9. Specify the Discovery Interval (in minutes) for periodic cluster discovery.
  10. Specify the Polling Interval (in minutes) for data collection.
  11. Choose the Monitor Group to associate this monitor with (optional).
  12. Click Add Monitor(s) to initiate discovery from Prism Central.
Prerequisites:
  • Both Prism Central and all corresponding Prism Element servers must be reachable from the Applications Manager server.
  • The same credentials must be valid for both Prism Central and Prism Element.
Note:
  • Applications Manager uses the Prism Central details only for cluster discovery and Prism Central—level polling.
  • Each Nutanix cluster is added as a child Nutanix monitor using the corresponding Prism Element IP.
  • Data collection for each discovered Nutanix cluster is performed using its Prism Element.
  • The same credentials provided for Prism Central are reused for Prism Element authentication. If credentials differ, update them manually in the Edit Nutanix Monitor page.
  • This monitor focuses only on cluster discovery. Aggregated multi-cluster metrics will be introduced in future releases.

Monitored Parameters

The Nutanix Multi-Cluster monitor currently performs cluster discovery only. No metrics are available at this level. All performance and availability metrics are available under each discovered Nutanix (Prism Element) child monitor.
