Web Category Filtering

The Web Category feature in Web Filter enables administrators to regulate access to websites by categorizing them based on their content type. By organizing websites into clearly defined groups, this feature provides IT teams with a simple yet effective way to manage browsing activity across the organization. With precise controls in place, businesses can ensure that employees remain focused on work-related tasks, minimize exposure to security threats such as malicious or inappropriate websites, and adhere to organizational policies as well as industry compliance requirements.

Supported Web Categories

Websites are grouped into predefined categories for easier management. A trusted database of well-known websites is maintained, each mapped to a specific category. When a site is not found in the database, the Web Filter agent uses an AI-powered content analysis engine to determine the site’s category in real time. You can allow or block access to any of these categories:

  • News
  • Technology
  • Entertainment
  • Education
  • Personal and Hobbies
  • Health and Medicine
  • Shopping
  • Business
  • Social Media
  • Sports
  • Finance
  • Streaming
  • Government and Legal
  • Gambling
  • Adult
  • Job Search and Career Development

Websites that don’t fall into these categories are automatically classified as Others.
