Vulnerability Scan

Vulnerabilities are increasing at an alarming rate. To mitigate risks effectively, it is imperative to maintain accurate and up-to-date patch and vulnerability scans. This proactive approach enables the identification of systems with missing critical patches, allowing for timely remediation and enhancing the organization's overall security posture. Regular scans allow organizations to prioritize and fix vulnerabilities before they lead to data breaches, financial losses, or reputational damage.

Vulnerability Scan

Vulnerability scanning is supported on the following platforms:

  • Windows
  • Mac
  • Linux

During a patch and vulnerability scan, the agent collects endpoint information and evaluates it against the synchronized patch and vulnerability database. The scan evaluates:

  • Installed software, application versions, and operating system details.
  • Installed, missing, applicable, and superseded patches.
  • Known vulnerabilities affecting supported applications and operating systems.
  • Supported security misconfigurations and CIS-related configuration issues.
  • High-risk and end-of-life software.
  • Supported web server misconfigurations and port-related exposure.
Note
The vulnerability scan does not perform a deep content scan of every file and directory on the endpoint. Detection is based on supported software inventory, operating system and application version information, patch status, and supported configuration checks.
