How to install Endpoint Central on Google Cloud Platform?

The Central Server can now be installed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) instances to streamline your server and endpoint management needs.

Note: Endpoint Central installation on GCP is currently not available in the US region due to TAA compliance.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that the instance is assigned a static public IP, is not blocked by any firewalls, and is accessible to all client computers. You can refer to this page for assigning a static public IP to your VM instance.
  • Open the necessary ports on the GCP instance for smooth communication between the Central Server and the client computers.

Steps

  • After purchasing your instance from Google Cloud Platform, you can download and install the Central Server on your instance.
  • Once the server is successfully installed, log in to the Central Server console and navigate to "Agent -> Agent Settings -> General Settings".
  • Enter the static public IP of the GCP instance in the "Server IP Address" field.
  • Disable "Automatically detect and save the IP Address change" to prevent the Central Server from detecting and changing the server IP, then save changes.

Agent Settings: Disable Auto-Detect IP

  • Restart the Central Server service.
  • Finally, install the Central Server agent on the devices you want to manage. Check out this page to learn more about installing agents.

You have now successfully deployed Endpoint Central on a GCP Instance.
