For devices running Android 10 or below versions: You must uninstall the existing MDM profile before starting the onboarding process. These devices can be onboarded using a custom APK (available for Android 10 and below), which you will need to request from support.

For devices running Android 11 or above: You need to perform a factory reset and enroll the devices through Knox enrollment.

Corporate Non-Samsung devices Factory reset the devices and enroll them using any of these methods:
  1. EMM token enrollment (QR code enrollment)

Note:

  • The devices can be migrated only if your current MDM vendor provides the required APIs.
  • If you are migrating from another MDM vendor's solution, and want more information on how to save existing data and begin managing devices with Mobile Device Manager Plus, contact support.
  • If the device was Supervised(*), the Supervision will be retained even after moving the device into MDM.
  • Even if the device was enrolled using Apple Business Manager, the MDM profile will be removable from the device after migration. You need to reset enroll devices using ABM to ensure mandatory management.

Points to note after device migration

These are applicable only after the migration process is successfully completed

      • ABM Apps Migration : To integrate Mobile Device Manager Plus with Apple Business Manager (ABM), you need to create a new location token in your destination server, and then click on Sync Apps. This location token needs to be created as a duplicate of your existing Apple Business Manager account.
      • Managed Google Play apps Migration : To configure Managed Google Play, remove your Google account from the previous MDM and configure it with Mobile Device Manager Plus. The same process applies if you have set up Managed Google Play using a Google Workspace account. (Remove the existing Workspace account and add it to the MDM console)
      • Migrating Organization settings and App: While apps cannot be migrated from other MDMs, the organization's location token can be associated with Mobile Device Manager Plus. Additionally, the AFW account can be registered in the MDM Console to fetch the currently used apps.
      • Managing Supervision After MDM Profile Removal: For Apple devices that have already been enrolled into Apple Business Manager, the previous MDM solution's MDM Profile can removed by the end users. However, the device will remain supervised by Mobile Device Manager Plus.
