Voluntary Product Accessibility Template

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) is a document that evaluates how accessible a particular product is according to Revised 508 Standards. It is a self-disclosing document produced by the vendor which details each aspect of the standards and how the product supports each criteria. The International Edition of VPAT comprises of the following standards:

• Revised Section 508 standards – the U.S. Federal accessibility standard
• EN 301 549 – the European Union’s “Accessibility requirements suitable for public procurement of ICT products and services in Europe”
• WCAG 2.1 or ISO/IEC 40500 – W3C/WAI’s recently updated Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
