This section explains the various steps involved in the Installation and Uninstallation of IT360. The installation steps slightly differ for each of the 3 editions of IT360, but are common for all modules (i.e., Network, Servers & Applications and Traffic) in IT360, except the Storage module, for which the installation steps are documented separately.

Note: If you use underscore [ _ ], you will not be able to access certain services on TCP/IP networks, as it may affect IT360 service startup.
You should have decided by now, on the required edition of IT360 - Either Professional Edition, or Enterprise Edition, or MSP Edition.
Ensure that the System Requirements are properly met with.
Download the Latest version of ManageEngine IT360.
If you want Failover support, it is suggested that you use Microsoft SQL as the backend database.
In case, you plan to use Microsoft SQL as the backend database, make sure that you have Configured Microsoft SQL Server for ManageEngine IT360 installation.
Make sure that you have properly configured DNS for the Server, in which IT360 is to be installed.

Double click on 'ManageEngine_IT360.exe' and follow the screens, which are self-explanatory. A brief description of the screens is given below.
Go through the License Agreement carefully, and click 'Yes' to accept and proceed further.
Selecting Edition: Choose 'Professional Edition', from the available options, for installation in your environment, and click 'Next'.
Installation Folder: If you want to change the location of the installation folder of ManageEngine IT360 – Professional Edition, then click on 'Browse' button. Else, click 'Next'. By default, it installs under'C:\ManageEngine\IT360'.
Shortcut Name: Specify the shortcut name which should appear in the 'Start Menu'. Click 'Next'.
Ports and Secure Communication: You may use the default port as displayed, or, you may specify the port of your choice. You may also choose to change the type of communication - 'http' or 'https'. [The default port number for an HTTP connection is 8080. The default port number for an HTTPS connection is 8443. When you decide to use a different port number, ensure those ports are free. The following ports are generally required in IT360: 1100, 2001, 8080, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, 8005 and 8009.]. Click 'Next'.
Note: The system locale or language in the system, in which the IT360 application runs, should be the same as that of the language chosen in this wizard. [The system locale can be set from; 'Control Panel -> Region and Language -> Administrative -> Change system locale']
Personal Information: Enter your personal details, such as ‘Name (mandatory)’, ‘Email Address’, ‘Phone’, ‘Company Name (mandatory)’and ‘Country’. Click 'Next'.
Review Settings and Confirm: Once you have correctly configured the port settings, the setup wizard would expect you to confirm the installation settings. Then, click 'Next'. The installation begins now. It would take a few minutes for the installation wizard to extract the files into the installation directory. Once the installation is through, the Database Selection screen appears. If you want to make any changes, click 'Back'.
Database configuration panel: Enter the following configuration details of Microsoft SQL server:
The correct ‘Database Server’ name, ‘Port Number’, ‘Login’ details, ‘Password’, ‘Instance Name’and ‘Prefix’ for ManageEngine IT360 – Professional edition. Also, make sure that the ‘Create Database’ checkbox is checked, if you want the database to be created.
If no Named Instance is available for the Microsoft SQL server, just leave the ‘Instance Name’field, blank.
Note: If Microsoft SQL is running on the same server, where IT360 is installed, the IT360 modules may get started, even before the database actually starts. To avoid this, change the Startup Type for the IT360 services as 'Automatic (Delayed Start)', by following the below steps;
Go to ‘services.msc’.
Right click on the 'ManageEngine IT360 Central' service or 'ManageEngine IT360 Probe' service, as applicable.
- Select ‘Properties’, change the 'Startup type' to 'Automatic (delayed start)' and click ‘OK’.
Once the database configuration is complete, proceed to click ‘Next’ to complete installation.

This section describes the installation steps for the Enterprise Edition. This edition has Distributed Architecture and works in a Central Server - Probe model. The Central Server is the master server that displays the data, obtained by the Probe Server from remote location. This data is displayed in a centralized console view. While installing this Edition, you first need to install the Central Server, followed by the Probe Server, in the remote location(s).
Recommended Configuration: It is recommended that you install the Central and the Probe in different systems rather than on the same system, i.e. install Central Server in System 1 and Probe Server in System 2, System 3, etc.
Double click on 'ManageEngine_IT360.exe' and follow the screens, which are self-explanatory. A brief description of the screens is given below.

example, if you have chosen 'http' for Central Server, ensure you have selected the same protocol while installing Probe Server.

- Select ‘Properties’, change the 'Startup type' to 'Automatic (delayed start)' and click ‘OK’.
Now, a wizard appears indicating the completion of the installation process. You can now choose to either Start ManageEngine IT360 server and click 'Finish', or simply click 'Finish' to complete the installation.

Once the Central Server installation is complete, you can start with the installation of the Probe Server. Before beginning the Probe Server installation, make sure of the following:

Note: If you have installed Central in NAT environment, please use the NAT IPAddress in 'Central Server Host'.
Here, enable the 'Configure Standby Central Server Details' checkbox, only if you have previously installed the Failover Secondary Central. Click 'Next'.
Standby Central Server Details: This step is applicable, only if you have enabled the 'Configure Standby Central Server Details' checkbox in the previous step. Here, simply enter the Standby Central Server details such as 'Standby Central Server Host Name/IP' and 'Standby Central Server SSL Port Number', to enable communication with the Probe for Failover. Click 'Next'.
Installation Folder: If you want to change the location of the installation folder of ManageEngine IT360 – Enterprise Edition (Probe Server), then click on 'Browse' button. Else, click 'Next'. By default, it installs under 'C:\ManageEngine\IT360'.

2. The operator/user has to open the 'https' port in Firewall, to access the Probe from Central, even though the Probe is installed in 'http' mode. This is because, in general, the Central to Probe communication happens in 'https' mode, irrespective of the protocol scheme configured in Probe.

In order to uninstall IT360, do the following:
Ensure that you have stopped the server. To stop the server, click on the System Tray icon and select 'Stop IT360 Server'.
Now, uninstall ManageEngine IT360 by either of the following 3 ways:
Uninstall through Windows Add/Remove Programs:
Go to your 'Control Panel' in Windows system.
Double click on 'Add/Remove Programs' option. It will display the list of programs installed in the system.
Select ManageEngine IT360 and click 'Uninstall'.
Uninstall through Start Menu in Windows:
Professional Edition:
Navigate to 'Start --> All Programs --> ManageEngine IT360 --> Uninstall'
Enterprise and MSP Editions:
For Central Server:
Navigate to 'Start --> All Programs --> ManageEngine IT360 Central --> Uninstall'
- For Probe Server:
Navigate to 'Start --> All Programs --> ManageEngine IT360 Probe --> Uninstall'
- Uninstall by Running the Install Exe file:
Double click on the exe file of ManageEngine IT360. It will ask you to confirm whether you would like to uninstall ManageEngine IT360.
Click 'Yes' to proceed with un-installation.
Note: All the above three un-installation methods will remove ManageEngine IT360 from your system. All folders available by default will be removed from the system.
