In general, OpStor is a multi-vendor storage area networks (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) monitoring tool for storage devices, such as Storage Arrays, Fabric Switches, Tape Libraries, Host servers and Host Bus Adapters cards. Once this OpStor is integrated with IT360, it will then be called as the Storage Module.
Once you have decided to incorporate OpStor with IT360, you have two choices;
After choosing any one of the above installations, follow the below steps that allow you to use the OpStor in conjunction with IT360.
You need to consider two cases, while integrating OpStor with IT360. One is integrating a completely new OpStor (a freshly installed one having no devices) with IT360. The other case is where OpStor is already being used, has some added devices and needs to be integrated with IT360. The steps for these two cases are discussed below.
Steps to Integrate Fresh OpStor (having NIL devices) with IT360
Steps to Integrate OpStor (having already provisioned devices) with IT360
| This section is applicable to the following editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Probe only) and MSP Edition (Probe only). |
- Apply IT360 License for Storage Module manually in IT360. This is to access the Storage module in IT360. (Note: This step is applicable for registered users only)
Steps relevant to OpStor:
Install OpStor, by downloading its exe from: http://www.manageengine.com/products/opstor/download.html. You can install the OpStor in either the local system (where IT360 is installed), or in a remote system (where IT360 is not installed). Kindly ensure that the relevant System Requirements are met with. (Note: Please do not start the OpStor server now).
Note: 1. The below step: 4 is applicable, only when IT360 is installed in HTTPS mode. Else, if IT360 is installed in HTTP mode, directly go to step: 5.
2. In case of MSP, the step: 4 is always required, as MSP is configured in HTTPS by default.
Run the configssl.bat file, available under <OPSTOR_HOME>/bin directory, with "e" as argument.
Make sure that the IT360 server is running and reachable from OpStor, and OpStor is not running. Now, run the configureIT360.bat file, available under <OPSTOR_HOME>/bin directory, with Console Host and Console Port of IT360 as arguments.
- Start the OpStor server.
Now, you can configure OpStor (to work as Storage Module) in IT360. Follow the steps below:
Navigate to "Admin -> General -> Storage Configuration".
In the Add-on/Product Settings wizard displayed, configure the below details:
Enter the Server name and Port number of the machine, where OpStor is running.
Enter the Username and Password.
Select the Protocol (http or https).
Select the Remote Installation to be Yes, if OpStor is not installed in the system where IT360 is running. Select No, if OpStor is installed in the system where IT360 is running.
- Click Save button for the settings to take effect. (You can edit the settings anytime from this Add-on/Product Settings wizard, by clicking the icon
).
- Restart IT360 and after ensuring that IT360 has started, start the OpStor server.
i. For Professional and Enterprise Editions:
Follow the same steps listed above from steps 1-8.
ii. For MSP Edition:
The integration steps slightly differ for MSP edition, due to the Customer-Site feature. This can be explained as follows. While integrating the Storage module (that has some added devices) with IT360, you need to associate those devices to the IT360 Customer/Sites. This allows the Storage module to be completely in sync with the IT360 - MSP edition. The steps are as follows:
Steps relevant to IT360:
- Apply IT360 License for Storage Module manually in IT360. This is to access the Storage module in IT360. (Note: This step is applicable for registered users only)
Steps relevant to OpStor:
Install OpStor, by downloading its exe from: http://www.manageengine.com/products/opstor/download.html. You can install the OpStor in either the local system (where IT360 is installed), or in a remote system (where IT360 is not installed). Kindly ensure that the relevant System Requirements are met with. (Note: Please do not start the OpStor server now).
Note: The below step: 4 is applicable, only when OpStor is installed in HTTPS mode. Else, if OpStor is installed in HTTP mode, directly go to step: 5.
Run the configssl.bat file, available under <OPSTOR_HOME>/bin directory, with "e" as argument.
Start the OpStor server and add a few devices.
Stop OpStor.
Make sure that the IT360 server is running and reachable from OpStor, and OpStor is not running. Now, run the configureIT360.bat file, available under <OPSTOR_HOME>/bin directory, with Console Host and Console Port of IT360 as arguments.
- Now, start the OpStor server.
Steps to Configure OpStor as Storage Module in IT360:
Once OpStor is started, use the below URL to associate the Storage devices to the IT360 Customers/Sites. [Note: Make sure that the Customer(s)/Site(s) are created in IT360 before executing the below step]
https://<IT360_Probe_Host>:<IT360_Probe_Port>/it360/jsp/associateCustSite.jsp?host=<OpStor_Host>&port=<OpStor_Port>&protocol=https
Note: Here, <IT360_Probe..> refers to the Probe with which the Storage module is to be integrated.
- Now, all the Storage devices are listed along with the IT360 Customer/Site info. Associate the devices to the corresponding Customers/Sites and save the configuration.
Note: Make sure that all available devices are associated before saving the configuration, as this is a one time configuration.
- Now, you can configure OpStor (to work as Storage Module) in IT360.
To enabe Rebranding support in the Storage module, do the following:
Rebranding.properties file, under <OPSTOR_HOME>\WEB-INF\resources\en, contains the keys that need to be replaced.
Images under the directory: <OPSTOR_HOME>/webclient/common/images/rebranding need to be replaced.
Limitation: User-based rebranding is not supported. |
