Representing Business Service in Google Map 

Introduction:

This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Both Central & Probes), and MSP Edition (Both Central & Probes).

The Google Maps API embed the Google Maps in web pages, with JavaScript. By integrating with the Applications module, the status of all the Business Services, across the globe can be represented visually. The root cause analysis (RCA) data is available in the map.

Representing Business Service in Google map:

To represent a Business Service in Google map, do the following;

• While creating a new business service, you can associate the Business Service to the location, chosen from the list.

• Else, you can select and add custom locations, by clicking on Add Location link, which opens up the google map.

Steps to configure Google Map in IT360 web client:

1. Register for Google Map API Key in the following link:
   http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html

2. Give the IT360 client URL, for e.g., 'http://it360-k8s-5', while registering for the key.

3. Below is a sample key:

   <ABQIAAAACGngMDPPB5ol4nESiM6FSBSn6w5ihTF9sPvmIkeTzJnqPStjkhQTWehatYnC0-aTrxXpt9ddgdG_Nw>

4. Now, go to 'Admin -> Servers & Applications -> Google Map'.

5. Enter the Google Map Key.

6. You can add or delete location(s), from the 'Manage Locations' drop down box. Click on the Add Location link, to add custom locations.

7. You can then customize the Height and Width of the Google Map.

8. Now, click on the Save button.

Note: You can add Google Map Business view in your intranet itself.
