Switching Database Server in IT360

This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Both Central and Probes) and MSP Edition (Both Central and Probes).

1. Introduction

ManageEngine IT360 supports the following database types: MySQL, Microsoft SQL (MSSQL) and Postgre SQL (PGSQL). This document describes how to move from one database to another, say Microsoft SQL to Postgre SQL.

The below database change scenarios are possible:

2. Limitations

  1. You cannot change the database server along with the existing data. In other words, the data will not be carried over during this database switch-over process.

  2. Changing from any database type (MSSQL / PGSQL) to MySQL is restricted from Version 10.0 onwards. If you try, the following error message will be shown: "Changing DBServer from MSSQL/POSTGRESQL to MYSQL is not supported!".

3. Database Transformation Possibilities
