Configuring Mail Server Settings for Monitoring modules of IT360

This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Both the Central Server and at the Probes) and the MSP Edition (Both the Central Server and at the Probes).

ManageEngine IT360 allows you to send email alert notifications on various network faults. In addition, the Reports module also uses this mail server settings to email the Scheduled Reports. IT360 sends the mail to the mail server specified in the e-mail notification profile. To configure the SMTP server settings globally, follow the steps given below:

Steps to Configure Mail Server Settings

  1. Login to IT360 console with the Username and Password of an Admin user.

  2. Click the Admin tab in the header pane.

  3. Click Connectivity under General.

  4. By default, the Mail Server tab will be selected, else click that tab. In the Mail Server configuration wizard displayed, do the following:

  5. Enter the SMTP Server name and the SMTP Port number in the relevant fields.

  6. Select Requires Authentication and enter the User name and Password details, if the server requires authentication to send e-mail.

  7. Configure the From and To Address fields with appropriate email ids.

  8. You may ensure that the email is correctly sent to the given id by using the Test button.

  9. Click Save.

Note: In case of ServiceDesk module, you need to configure Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server Settings separately. This is covered in a separate document.
