Configuring Additional Device Properties

Introduction:

This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition - Probes only and MSP Edition - Probes only.

You can configure additional properties of a device, by adding additional fields. This makes device management, easy.

Steps Required to Configure Additional Device Properties:

1. Go to 'Admin --> Networks -> Additional Fields'. A list of pre-populated fields is shown. (See the below figure)

2. Select the Device, from the available list-box, to which the pre-defined fields are to be associated.

3. Click on the Add Field button on the top right corner of the table, if you want to configure additional values. Finally, click Save to apply the configuration.

   • Field Name: Configure the name of the additional property

   • Field Type: Select the property type

   • Field Length: Set the length of the field.

   • Description : Add a meaningful description for the field.

4. The properties added are applied to all the devices. Now, click on Save, for the configured settings to get saved.

Deleting Additional Fields:

To delete the fields, you may click on the Delete icon, present against each of the additional field. Please note that you will not be able to delete the default additional fields provided.

Note:

The additional fields are displayed, when you click the Device Notes tab, in the Device Snapshot page. These properties are useful, when configuring Notification profiles.
