Associating Notification Profiles with Managed Devices

This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Probes only) and MSP Edition (Probes only).

You need to associate the notification profiles with devices to trigger a particular action, whenever these devices are under trouble. You can also select time-window, so that alerts during only the specified interval are notified.

There are three ways in which you can associate the profiles to devices:

• From Notification Profiles Page

• From Quick Configuration Wizard

• From Device Snapshot Page

Steps to Associate from Notification Profiles Page

1. Navigate to 'Admin --> Networks --> Notification Profiles'. All the configured notification profiles are listed here.

2. Click the Associate button. The set of all available profiles is listed.

3. Select a Notification Profile and click Next.

4. Now, define a criteria(on) for the selected profile. You can click the Advanced tab, to define the Severity level(s). e.g. Critical, Attention, etc. Click Next

5. Choose the time-window, i.e. whether you want to apply this profile all the time, or during a time period defined by you, as in the below screenshot. Click Next

   • Apply this profile all the time: This notifies alerts occuring for the selected criteria at any time.

   • Apply the profile for the selected time window: You can specify the required time- window here. For instance, if you set the values as From 09:30 To 18:30, and select the days from Monday through Friday, alerts triggered during the specified interval and selected days only will be notified.

6. Select a device group to associate with the profile, from the list of options displayed and click Next.

   • If you select a category, then the profile is associated to all the devices in the category automatically.

   • If you select a business view, the profile is associated to all the devices in the selected business view.

   • If you choose Select devices manually, the next page will list all the managed devices. Move the devices from the list in the left to the one in the right and click Finish.

7. Now, select the individual devices, corresponding to the device group you have chosen in the previous step, to be associated to the profile. Move the required devices from the left-side column to the right-side one.

8. Click Finish. The selected devices are associated with the profile successfuly and the final results are displayed as below;

Steps to Associate from Quick Configuration Wizard

This way of associating is helpful, when you want to associate a profile with multiple devices or a particular category of devices. For doing so, follow the steps given below:

1. Navigate to 'Admin --> Networks --> Quick Configuration wizard'.

2. Select Assign a notification profile... and click Next.

3. The set of all available profiles is listed. Now, follow the same steps: 3-8 as above, to associate the profile with the devices.

Steps to Associate from Device Snapshot Page

To associate a notification profile to a single device, follow the steps given below:

1. Open the snapshot page of the device.

2. Scroll down the page and click the Notification Profile tab.

3. Click the Add Profile button.

4. The set of all available profiles is listed. Now, follow the same steps: 3-8 as above, to associate the profile with the devices.
