This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Probes only) and MSP Edition (Probes only).
Now, perform the following alert actions.
This option is useful for the operators to pick up the problem and work on it. To perform this action, select the checkbox of an alarm and click on the Acknowledge button on top the alarms list. Now, the administrator/operator's name is populated in the technician's field and a confirmation message is displayed as: "Alarm has been successfully Acknowledged".
Note: The Alarms that are acknowledged can be excluded from being escalated, by configuring as per the alarm escalation rule.
By this option, the assigned technician can be removed so that the alarm is back in the unassigned list. To perform this action, select the checkbox of an alarm and click on the UnAcknowledge button on top the alarms list. Now, a confirmation message is displayed as: "Alarm has been successfully UnAcknowledged".
By this option, you can clear an alarm manually. To perform this action, select the checkbox of an alarm and click on the Clear button on top the alarms list. Now, a confirmation message is displayed as: "Alarm has been successfully cleared".
By this option, you can delete an alarm. To perform this action, select the checkbox of an alarm and click on the Delete button on top the alarms list. Now, a window pops up with a confirmation message: "Are you sure you want to delete the selected Alarms?". Click OK to delete the alarm.
Note: For all the following actions, first click on the link of an Alarm Message, which displays the Alarm Details / Event History page. From there, you can perform all the below listed actions.
As you click on the link of an Alarm Message, you can view the Alarm Details and Event History of the selected device, as shown in the below screenshot.
You can add notes to the alarms to explain the steps you have followed to correct the fault or to give tips to the operator, who is working on the fault. For this, click the Add Notes link below the Alarm Details section. (Refer the above screenshot)
You can notify this alarm via any of the notification profiles created by you. For this, click Test Actions in the Alarm Details / Event History page and a window pops up. Select the desired notification profile.
You can view the availability history of the faulty device. For this, click on the More link in the Alarm Details / Event History page and click Availability. A window pops up showing the Availability Report of the faulty device, as shown below;
From the above Availability Report window, you can perform the below actions;
- Scheduling Reports
- Exporting to PDF
- Exporting to Excel
- Emailing the Report
- Viewing Report Options (As in below screenshot)
You can ping the faulty device. For this, click on the More link in the Alarm Details / Event History page and click Ping. A window pops up showing the Ping Results of the faulty device, as shown below;
You can trace the route of a faulty device. For this, click on the More link in the Alarm Details / Event History page and click Trace Route. A window pops up showing the Trace Route Results of the faulty device, as shown below;
Alarms created for devices, which are under maintenance, can be neglected by moving those devices to unmanaged state. For this, click on the More link in the Alarm Details / Event History page and click Unmanage. Now, the selected device is successfully unmanaged and a message, saying "Device has been successfully unmanaged" is displayed.
You can configure notification profile to the faulty devices. For this, click on the More link in the Alarm Details / Event History page and click Configure Notifications. Now, the notification profiles page is displayed, from where you can add a profile to the selected device.
