Using Run Program Notification Profiles

This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Probes only) and MSP Edition (Probes only).

You can configure IT360 to automatically run a program, whenever a fault is detected in a device. For instance, you can configure IT360 to execute a program that corrects the fault or simply produces a sound, whenever a specific type of an alarm is raised for a device.

Steps to Create a Run Program Notification Profile

To create a profile that executes the specified program, follow the steps given below:

  1. Navigate to 'Admin --> Networks --> Notification Profiles'.

  2. From Run Program column, click Add New.

  1. Now, fill in the below information in the Configure Profile Details page displayed:

    1. Profile Name: Assign a meaningful name to this notification profile.

    2. Command Name: Specify the name of the program to be executed, with the absolute path. Example 'C:\profiles\testprogram.bat'.

    3. Program Arguments: If the program requires some arguments, specify the arguments as variables. Select the Argument variables from the available dropdown.

    4. Test Actions: Click this button to test the working of the configured notification profile.

    5. Save: Click this button to save the profile.

The program is executed with the specified arguments, whenever a fault matching the selected criteria is encountered.
