Release 10.4.0 (Build Number 10400)

Features & Enhancements

General

  • IT360 Console Login page description can be modified (rebranded) based on the Customer need
  • Rebranding support for Professional and Enterprise Edition
  • Changes that happen to ifDisplayname, ifDesc, ifName, ifAlias, ifSpeed, ifSpeedin, ifSpeedout and HcTraffic are automatically updated without rediscovering the Device

Service Desk

  • Option to configure actions on a Incident/Service Request to other external applications through a XML configuration. For example, you can create actions like 'Create a new account' to be displayed on the 'New Hire' template and when invoked from the Request details page, can plugin their own code to create an account in the ActiveDirectory by pulling the required information from the corresponding request. There are options to add notes, add resolution and to update a request upon response from the action
  • Option to convert an Incident to Service Request is introduced
  • Request notes section has been enhanced from a text area to a rich text area with options to make a text bold, underline and italic. This will be available for the Request module in the first phase
  • Mobile Devices (IPhone and IPad) once scanned through ManageEngine DesktopCentral can be pushed to Service Desk module and these devices would be added as assets under product types - Smart Phone and Tablet
  • In DesktopCentral Integrated mode (version 80238 and above), option to start a chat session with the requester is made available. Also, the chat conversation can be added as note or as resolution or can be created as a new ticket
  • Whenever a Group request is updated, selected technicians for the group will be notified
  • Allowing technicians to create his own API key in personalize option
  • Info related to Project Member Addition/Update/Deletion now gets listed in the project's history
  • Logged-in project members and Project owner cannot reassign themselves to lower ranked project roles
  • Project members cannot delete themselves from the project
  • Attachment related activities - add/delete attachment - now get listed in the project's history

  • Global configuration available to enable/disable task group members notification once the task is assigned to a group
  • Technician Space - showing some of the technician related notification alerts on the application screen. The supported notifications are listed below.
    • Notify Technician when a request is assigned
    • Notify Technician when a task is assigned
    • Notify Technician when there is a new reply from requester
    • Notify Technician when a note is added
    • Notify Approver when a request is submitted for approval
    • Notify Technician when a request is approved
    • Notify Technician when a request is rejected
  • Any resources of a request can now be set in the request notifications template. Earlier, only the workstation name can be set in the templates. For this, now the variable $WorkstationName is replaced with the $ResourceName in the request notification templates
  • Introduced a new option to disable the new requests from being created through email but existing ticket notifications will be appended properly
  • Notify the requester when a technician is assigned to a Request
  • Support for additional operations in REST API for Change module. The following new operations are supported.

  • Calculation of Task Scheduled End time based on Start time and Estimated Effort. Calculation of End time will consider site's operational hours and sla (if request's task)
    • Cannot complete child task before parent task is completed
    • Cannot mark dependency between Closed child and UnClosed parent task
    • Scheduled Start time will be set for child task when all the parent tasks are closed
    • Scheduled Start time will be set for Request's non dependent tasks while creating request from request template based on Self Service Portal Setting under Request Feature list
  • Option to configure multiple credentials for each subnet in Network scan. If a subnet has Windows, Unix, VMWare and Network devices different credentials can be configured based on the protocol (WMI, Telnet/SSH, SNMP V1/V2 & VMWare) used for scanning. These credentials are stored in a central credential library and can be associated to Network scan, individual machine scan and remote control
  • All Network devices with SNMP enabled can be scanned for inventory
  • The threaded contents in conversations will be hidden by default for better and quick readability
  • Option to configure the max file attachment size that can be allowed from the Admin - General Settings page
  • In Requester login : OnBehalfOf user field is added for raising request on behalf of other user.
    • Initially OnBehalfOf user field will be disabled. In order to configure this field we have to set paramvalue as 'true' for parameter 'ON_BEHALF_OF_USERFIELD' in globalconfig table
    • OnBehalfOf user list view in requester login will list only requester's department users as default, which can be modified in globalconfig table through parameter 'SHOW_OBOUSERS'
    • Need to restart the service desk service in order to take the above changes into effect
  • Known Issue : If requester is not allowed for OnBehalfOf user's site then group and technician will not be populated
  • $Reporting_To$ place holder has included in service request workflow similar like $DEPT_HEAD$. By configuring it in Service template workflow or in new service request page, can send the approval notification to the 'reportingto' or 'Manager' person
  • Email Signature is able to configure in Notification customized template for the following notifications
    • Request : Reply
    • Request : Forward
    • Request : Approval
    • Problem : Notify to Incident Technician\Requester
    • Change : Send Notification
    • Change : Send CAB Recommendation

  • Under Admin - Access permission for Roles, It is possible to allow assigning specific advanced permissions without activating the main access permission. For example: Now it should be possible to activate the option delete/update own notes, without giving technicians full delete rights on the request.

Change Management

  • New Change Management with Workflow, Stage and Status, Notifications, Change Roles, Change Template etc.
    • Change Template: Option to create multiple Change Templates and specify a workflow for each template.
    • Change Workflow: To represent the business change process as a workflow. Support for creating a normal template and an emergency template with each having its own workflow
    • Stage and Status: Six stages of Change path. Submission, Planning, Approval, Implementation, Review and Close. Each stage has their own status list.
    • Change Roles: Defining various change roles being played in the organization e.g Change Implementer, Analyzer, CAB Member, Line Manager, etc... Each role defined with scope on accessing various stages.
    • Notifications: Notifications based on status - Option to configure the roles to whom the notification should be sent when a change comes to a specific status
    • Others: Support for specifying the closure code, down times, impacted user and assets, reason for change and the risk involved in the change

Assets

  • Support for license management of software suite.
  • Support for upgrade and downgrade license.
  • Detecting suite software installations automatically based on rule.
  • Support for site based software compliance.
  • Customizable report for software.
  • Ability to purchase upgrade licenses from Purchase Order.
  • New enhanced UI is introduced in software details and list view page.
  • REST API for CMDB Module: API for performing add, update, read and delete CIs, relationships between CIs and creating CI Types.

Request

  • Update request status while replying to a request.
  • Ability to schedule OnHold requests to ReOpen at a specific time.
  • Ability to link requests with comments.
  • Featuring 'Request Trash' to recover deleted requests.
  • Reply Template can be customized to add variables.

Service Request

  • Ability to create new service request from an incident request.
  • Service Request to Purchase Order association.
  • Service Category of Service Catalog can be changed while copying a Service Template.
  • Reordering the resources inside the service catalog is introduced.
  • Under Requester login, all the first level approvers configured in the service template in "Select Approver" field will be shown by default.
  • Feature to set "ReportingTo" or "Manager" field of users through CSV import based on "Reporting To Email" has been implemented.
  • "Reporting To" or "Manager" field can be imported through scheduled CSV import has been implemented.

General

  • Enabling high speed Lucene search for request and solution module.
  • New button 'TODAY' in calendar to set current date
  • Dashboard Customization : Matrix reports & Charts of Custom report can be added to dashboard.
  • Marked task owner of the dependent task will be assigned once it's parent tasks are closed. Inline edit of task attributes under task list view provided. Dependent tasks will have a dependency icon before title under task list view. On-hovering the same the parent tasks will be highlighted under that list.
  • Support for Active Directory password reset using Robo technician in 64-bit installation.

Purchase

  • Multi-currency support in purchase order for procuring assets/services from different vendors who deal with different currencies

Others

  • Enhancements to the New Service Request page->select approvers field in technician login
    • Option to type,search and select the service request approvers from the 'select approvers' field.
    • Placeholders like $REPORTING_TO$, $DEPT_HEAD$ along with the approvers will be displayed with username, emailid, department so that it will be easy for the user to identify the exact approver from the approver list
    • Option to select / remove multiple Approvers from the 'select approver' field
  • On Splitting a conversation as a new request, Site, Group and Technician of Parent request will be set to the New Request created. NOTE : This is a behavior change, earlier the Site of the Parent ticket alone will be set in the "New Request" created as a result of the split operation
  • The size of the Reply/Forward popup windows of the request are enlarged
  • WorkLog operations as in Web Client view can be performed using the REST API
  • In REST API - Option to make note addition as request first response

Bugs Fixed

General

  • Slowness with login page due to the reference to the external links (Google Fonts) has been rectified.
  • Problems faced by users with login name having '@' character has been resolved.
  • Unable to import the requester and technicians from active directory after the upgrade to 10300 issue has been resolved.

Servers & Applications

  • Issue in JMX Monitors data collection and memory leak due to JMXConnector open connection has been resolved.
  • Issue in Central Probe sync due to the presence of "\n" character in the message has been resolved.
  • SNMP Monitor status shows down when we set the SNMP community other than public, issue has been resolved.
  • Changes to retain the communication configuration available in wrapper.conf files over the upgrades.  
  • Removed the "All Monitors" option in the Performance Monitor Widget so that only Servers and Applications Monitors will be listed.

ServiceDesk

  • Issue in accessing IT360 ServiceDesk using Android app has been resolved
  • Problems with dashboards faced by technicians having SDAdmin role and restricted site scope has been resolved

Traffic

  • Interfaces (and Routers) cannot be selected in UI to enable NBAR issue has been resolved.
  • NBAR data is not being collected for a setup with MSSQL database issue has been resolved.

  • Once a password reset is performed on a Customer account then that account is unable to access issue has been resolved.
  • Deletion of Requesters from console is not reflected in SDP issue has been resolved.
  • Issue in listing the Default Domain in the IT360 Central Login page has been resolved.
  • Issue due to having the IT360 Server host name as 'it360' has been resolved
  • Fixed a backdoor issue through which SQL Injection was possible in IT360

  • Topology Map View not shown to the Customer User issue has been resolved[MSP].

  • Issue in triggering the Notifications in Central due to delay in sync from Probe has been resolved.

  • The IT360 URL got changed from FQDN/IP address to the hostname of the server when we invoke the "Add Rack" & "Add 3D Floor" issue has been resolved.
  • IT360 URL got changed from FQDN/IPAddress to Hostname of the IT360 Server while accessing Add New Rack and Add New Floor issue has been resolved.
Service Desk
  • Issue in updating the Employee ID from Active Directory to IT360 SDP has been resolved.
  • Issue in deleting the requester from SDP when the same is deleted from Console has been resolved.
  • MSP Requester option shows all requesters when checked in different browsers issue has been resolved.
  • Issue in the Add Requestor URL from SDP Admin when FQDN is configured has been resolved.

New Plug-ins

  • Support to integrate Facilities Management (M2M) with IT360 in a secure mode (https)
  • Email notification for the diagnostic messages raised for IT360 license validation and violation, disk usage and transactional logs. Notification is sent to the email-id of the default admin user. We can add additional email-ids if necessary in the configuration file
  • Support to manage services, processes, files and folders of windows servers and desktops using IT Workflow Automation
  • Support to generate the license report (as PDF) based on the Purchased/Used count
  • A browser is launched during IT360 server startup

General

  • Server start up failed due to the corruption of OEM.txt is resolved
  • User are able to login to IT360 with old and new password even after changing the password in AD has been resolved
  • Issue in using the exclamation character(!) in MS SQL password for connecting to the MS SQL database has been resolved

  • Issues in Server and Application discovery and rediscovery has been resolved
  • Hyper-V servers can be discovered using "Add Device" option
  • In Exchange 2010 monitoring (runs on Windows 2008), most of the performance data shows NA. This issue has been resolved

  • Number of characters displayed in the Subject field in Request / Problem and Change list views will be dynamic. They will change based on the screen resolution and the number of columns that are visible in the list view.
