How to install and unisntall ADManager Plus as a Windows service?

Objective: To install or ADManager Plus as a service.

After installing ADManager Plus, follow these steps to install ADManager Plus as a service:

  1. Go to your machine's Start menu → All Programs
  2. Select ADManager Plus
  3. Click on NT Service folder.
  4. Click on Install ADMP Service.
  • When ADManager Plus is installed as a service, it runs with the privileges of the system account.
  • To use AD Reports module of ADManager Plus, even an ordinary user privilege is sufficient.
  • To use the AD Mgmt module (to create and manage Active Directory accounts / objects) administrator account or a user account with appropriate privileges is required.
  • The user credentials specified in Domain Settings of ADManager Plus will be used when it runs as a service or application.
  • In case of Vista, disable 'user account control' (Control Panel → User Accounts → User Accounts → Turn User Account Control on or off) as this option allows only the administrator to install the product.

Steps to Uninstall ADManager Plus

  1. Go to your machine's Start menu → All Programs
  2. Select ADManager Plus
  3. Click on Uninstall ADManager Plus
