For a Wide Area Network (WAN) such as an organization distributed across various geographical locations, two methods of scanning mechanism can be put to practice
Distributed
Asset Scan
This method involves a Remote AE server to be installed in each geographical
location to scan and maintains all the workstations, and user information
of the respective sites. The data from the Remote AE Server is pushed
to the Central AE Server either manually or by scheduling the data periodically.
Open the Firewall ports
between the sites.
