File Upload & Download Reports
Follow the steps below to view the reports DataSecurity Plus' Cloud Protection module provides on upload and download requests.
- Select Cloud Protection from the apps drop-down menu at the top.
- Navigate to Reports > File Uploads & Downloads.
- Here, you can choose to view all file upload requests, all file download requests, requests by actors, or any of the other default reports.
- Select the time range you want to report on using the Period drop-down menu.
Each report under the File Uploads & Downloads category provides different details on the type of requests made. These are detailed below.
All Upload Requests
This report lists all file upload requests made with these details:
- File Name: Displays the name of the file for which an upload request was made.
- Domain Name: Displays the name of the domain through which the upload request was made. Example: zoho.com.
- Cloud App: Displays the name of the cloud app through which the upload request was made. Example: workdrive.zoho.com.
- Actor: Displays the name of the actor initiating the upload request.
- Time Generated: Displays information on when the upload request was raised.
Files uploaded across the suites listed below can be viewed under All Upload Requests. You can also use the filter option to view upload requests for specific services based on your requirements,

- Microsoft 365
- Dropbox
- Box
- Google apps
- Yahoo
- Zoho apps
- Salesforce
- Slack
- Storage apps
- Social apps
- Others
All Download Requests
This report lists all file download requests made with these details:
- File Name: Displays the name of the file for which a download request was made.
- Domain Name: Displays the name of the domain through which the download request was made. Example: zoho.com.
- Cloud App: Displays the name of the cloud app through which the download request was made. Example: workdrive.zoho.com.
- Actor: Displays the name of the client that raised the download request.
- Time Generated: Displays information on when the download request was raised.
Top Actors Uploading Files
This report lists top actors uploading files with these details:
- Count: Displays the number of files uploaded by the actor.
- Upload Request Size: Displays the volume of data uploaded by the actor
Top Actors Downloading Files
This report lists top actors downloading files with these details:
- Count: Displays the number of files downloaded by the actor.
- Response Download Size: Displays the volume of data downloaded by the actor.
Limitations of File Uploads & Downloads reports
- File upload requests made in native Microsoft 365 applications are not listed, as they use a different API.
- File upload requests made in Dropbox's native application are not listed, as they use certificate pinning and don't allow deep packet inspection.
- Image files downloaded through JavaScript, or from cache will not be audited.
- File download reports can have lower accuracy when deep packet inspection is configured in mixed mode.
- File download requests made in WhatsApp are not listed.
- File download requests from web applications that use background Service workers will not be audited.
