Red Hat Download Permission Required

Problem

The error Download permission required. Contact organization admin. appears when you try to download Red Hat patches with credentials that do not have the required privileges.

Cause

An organization administrator for the Red Hat account must grant download permission before the account can download software and updates.

Role of an organization administrator

Organization administrator is the highest account permission level and provides full access to content and features. Only users with this role can manage other users and control their account access and permissions. An account can have multiple organization administrators.

Resolution

1. Identify an organization administrator for the Red Hat account.
2. Ask the administrator to grant download permission to the credentials used for Red Hat patching.
3. Retry the patch download after the permission change is applied.
