Do we have any agent-based monitoring available in
Application Manager?
Yes, Applications Manager supports agents for application
performance monitoring (APM Insight), end user
monitoring
(EUM), and real user monitoring (RUM).
Is Applications Manager available in OpManager as an
add-on?
Yes, we can use Applications Manager as a plugin in
OpManager. All the add-on features are available in it
too.
We observed alarms are group together for a
single
device. Can individual alarms can be
configured as
well?
Does Applications Manager support monitoring of a
live
log file where the file name keeps changing constantly
in a day?
Does Linux monitor support process monitoring based
on
PIDs?
No, Applications Manager does not monitor processes based
on PIDs.
Can Application Manger sync ADDM credentials from
OpManager?
Currently, we do not have this particular sync option
between OpManager and Applications Manager for ADDM.
However, our
team has already begun working on this integration, and
it should be automatically available in future releases.
Apart from ADDM, can resources be added using other
options in Applications Manager?
Yes, in addition to Application Discovery and Dependency
Mapping (ADDM), you can use any of the following option
to
monitor resources:
Can ADDM discover applications that communicate with each other by simply adding an initial server?
There are two types of dependency mapping performed in ADDM, which are Server to Application dependency and Application to Application dependency. Additionally, you can use an IP range or provide the network address of your server during the scan. This allows Applications Manager to scan the network for available servers, adding the server and its applications along with the service map.

Can Anomaly Profiles be set to only alert when the performance is above the threshold and not when it is below the threshold?
Anomaly Profiles can be set for both upper and lower limit values while establishing the deviation baseline. Based on these values, the alert will be triggered.
Does Applications Manager require the application server to be publicly available for it to be monitored? Does it apply to mobile apps as well?
No, the application monitor server does not need to be publicly available, be it web or mobile. As long as your application is reachable from the machine/mobile phone where Applications Manager is installed and the prerequisites for adding it are met, we should be able to monitor those applications effectively.
How can I obtain the memory consumption report of the processes running on a server with an operating system like RHEL?
If you have set up thresholds for the CPU or memory of RHEL servers, the alerts for threshold violations will provide complete information on memory and CPU usage for those processes.
Is there any global view to see what alerts are configured for each monitor, or do we have to go through each metric on each monitor to check?
Yes, we can view the alerts from the 'Alarm History' section on the monitor page. It will list all the alerts raised by that particular monitor. If you want to check the thresholds configured for all attributes globally, you can export the 'Threshold and Action Profile CSV' file from the 'Threshold Settings' page. This will provide you with all the thresholds and actions configured for all monitors and their attributes.
What is the difference between Dependency Map View and Business View? Can we create a dependency view or does it get created automatically?
Dependency view and Business view are mostly similar. Based on interconnections between applications, servers, databases, etc. in your infrastructure, it will automatically create network dependencies and create a view. If additional apps or devices have to be attached to, you can edit the view and update them. Additionally, there is an option to create the Business View manually.
Is it true that Machine Learning detection is an anomaly prediction? Can we lower the severity of Machine Learning detection to lower than critical?
Yes, you can alter the machine learning profile criteria's based on the requirements and suit your needs specifically.
What is the difference between health and availability attributes and how they can be used to report alarms?
Availability involves checking the connectivity of the applications from the Applications Manager machine. If the monitored applications or the device is not reachable, Availability will be shown as Down.
Whereas, Health depends on all the attributes monitored within the applications. If you have set any thresholds for the monitored attributes, it will affect the health of the monitor once these thresholds are breached.

Does Applications Manager support monitoring for FreeRADIUS applications?
We do not have out-of-the-box monitoring for FreeRADIUS application in Applications Manager. However, you can try using custom monitors to check the feasibility.
How can I configure the mobile app so that I get notifications only from my monitor groups and not all the servers, similar to the desktop app?
By default, when monitors become critical, the status of the associated Monitor Group will be affected. Therefore, you should receive only one notification from the Monitor Group in your mobile app.
Is it possible to monitor a Windows service without monitoring the individual server itself?
No, it is not possible to monitor a Windows service without configuring the Windows monitor for it.
Is it possible to run a powershell script as a monitor?
Yes, you can use script monitor for monitoring and executing a powershell script.
Can we receive notification for a particular monitor?
Yes, we can configure SMS actions to send notification for a particular monitor.
Is it possible to monitor cluster nodes at the same time along with the WebLogic server monitor?
Yes, you can configure the WebLogic monitor to monitor the WebLogic clusters except that you will need to add that as an additional monitor.
Is it possible to generate an availability report for a service?
If you are monitoring the service via the respective server monitor, then yes, you can generate an availability report for it.
Does the number of devices monitored depend on the license purchased?
Yes, you can add the number of monitors into Applications Manager only based on the monitors purchased in the license. Learn more
Can Application Manager resources be discovered through OpManager?
As of now, Applications Manager discovery is independent of what is present in OpManager. However, you can install the Applications Manager Plugin (APM Plugin) if you wish to perform application discovery from OpManager UI.
Is there a separate license required for the discovery module in Applications Manager?
Discovery module (ADDM) comes by default in Applications Manager. No additional license is required.
How is Application Manager licensed?
Applications Manager is licensed based on monitored resource count. Each resource (such as a website, database server, application server, or virtual machine) is considered one monitor. For example, if you have 10 websites and 10 database servers and 10 servers to be monitored, then you will need license for 30 monitors. You can learn more about the pricing in this link.
How can I disable anomaly monitoring?
You can delete the anomaly profile you have created by selecting and deleting the required anomaly profile under Settings tab → Threshold & Anomalies → Anomaly Profile.
Can Applications Manager be used for tracking, monitoring, and analyzing the usage of specific standalone software applications (e.g., Adobe Photoshop) installed on some of our dedicated desktops and laptops on a site?
No, Applications Manager cannot be used for auditing standalone software applications using our product.
