How to configure password synchronization between Active Directory and Salesforce using ADSelfService Plus

Here's how to configure Password Synchronization for Salesforce from ADSelfService Plus:

Execute the "ManageEngine_ADSelfService_Plus.exe" file and follow the instructions from the install shield.

Prerequisites:

  • ADSelfService Plus should be installed successfully.
  • API access should be enabled in your Salesforce account.
  • A custom app for ADSelfService Plus must be created in Salesforce.

Configuration Steps:

  • Log into ADSelfService Plus as an administrator.
  • Go to Configuration → Self-Service → Password Synchronizer.
  • Click Salesforce. You will be presented with the Salesforce configuration page.
  • Enter the domain name, username, password, and security token of your Salesforce account.
    1. Steps to get the security token: 

      Log in to your administrator account for Salesforce. Navigate to <Your Login Name> (top right corner) →  My Settings →  Personal → Reset My Security Token. In the page that opens, click Reset Security Token. The new security token is sent to the email address in your Salesforce personal settings.

  • Enter the Client ID and Client Secret of the ADSelfService Plus app from your Salesforce account.
    1. Steps to get the Client ID and Client Secret: 

      Log in to your administrator account for Salesforce. Navigate to Setup → Build → Create → Apps → Connected Apps and click the ADSelfService Plus app you created. You will now be able to see Consumer Key, which is the Client ID, and Consumer Secret, which is the Client Secret. 

  • Select the Self-Service Policies by clicking the "+" icon. Password Synchronization will be possible for only those users who fall under the selected self-service policies.
  • Click Save
