Reactive Active Directory group modification

ADManager Plus helps you standardize and streamline group modification with fully-customizable templates. You can specify common or standard attribute values in a group modification template; when a group is modified using that template, the attributes are automatically updated in accordance with the specified values.

About modification rules

Modification rules let you update specific group attributes with predefined values by following a condition-dependent method. That is, when a group satisfies a certain condition, its attributes will be auto-filled with predefined values. Let's look at an example. Consider a modification rule with the following condition: change in manager must automatically modify the group membership. That is, when the manager attribute takes the value X, the member field is automatically populated with the values A, B, and C.

• The modification rules applied in a template are executed in the background each time that template is used to modify a group.
• The specified group attributes will be automatically updated with predefined values if the conditions are met.
• These rules will not be visible to the help desk technicians during the modification process.

About drag-and-drop customization

You can customize group modification templates by using the drag-and-drop feature that allows you to place only the required attributes in the templates. The feature also lets you define the attributes that can be modified by the delegated users. For instance, you can create a technician-specific template that allows the technician to modify only certain attributes. The attributes can also be marked as hidden or read-only, as needed.

This helps your retain control over group modification, despite delegating the task to non-administrative users. You can easily ensure that critical attributes are protected against unsolicited changes by providing attribute-level security for your Active Directory groups.
