AWS Elastic IP - Overview

An AWS Elastic IP address is a region-specific, fixed public IP address tailored for dynamic cloud computing environments. Gain comprehensive visibility and the real-time status of your IP addresses with the Applications Manager AWS Elastic IP monitoring tool.

Monitored Parameters

Go to the Monitors Category View by clicking the Monitors tab. Click on the AWS Elastic IP instance available under Amazon in the Cloud Apps section. Displayed is the AWS Elastic IP bulk configuration view distributed into three tabs:

  • Availability tab shows the availability history for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
  • Performance tab shows health status and events for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
  • List view tab enables you to perform bulk admin configurations.

By clicking a monitor from the list, you'll be taken to the AWS Elastic IP dashboard which includes the following tabs:

Performance Overview

AttributeDescription
Total Elastic IPsThe total number of Elastic IPs created in this region at the time of polling.
Unattached Elastic IPsThe total number of Elastic IPs unattached to the resource in this region at the time of polling.
Attached Elastic IPsThe total number of Elastic IPs attached to the resource in this region at the time of polling.

Elastic IP Inventory

ParameterDescription
Public IPThe Elastic IP address.
Private IPThe private IP address associated with the Elastic IP address.
Public IPv4 PoolThe ID of an address pool.
DomainThis indicates the network. Possible values: vpc, standard.
Allocation IDThe ID representing the allocation of the address.
Association IDThe ID representing the association of the address with an instance.
Instance IDThe ID of the instance that the address is associated with (if any).
Network Interface IDThe ID of the network interface.
Network Border GroupThe name of the unique set of Availability Zones, Local Zones, or Wavelength Zones from which AWS advertises IP addresses.
EIP Attachment StatusThis indicates whether this Elastic IP is attached to any resource at the time of polling.
