E-mail Action(s)


This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition [Central Server and Probes] and MSP Edition [Central Server and Probes].

This action will send e-mail to the specified persons, in the event of an alarm.

Steps to Create an E-mail Action

To create an e-mail action, follow the steps given below;

  1. Login to IT360 console with the Username and Password of an Admin user.

  2. Click the Admin tab in the header pane.

  3. Click Actions under Alarms.

  4. Choose Servers & Applications from the Actions profiles for dropdown. The Action Profile Configuration wizard is displayed.

  5. Click the Add New link under E-mail Action(s). The Create Action : Send E-mail page is displayed.

Note: If the mail server is not configured already, you will see the Email Settings screen initially (Shown in the below screenshot). Specify the mail server details and continue to configure the Send E-mail action.

  1. Enter any Display name for the action.

  2. The From and To e-mail addresses.

  3. The Subject and Message of the e-mail.

  4. Choose the Mail Format of the message: HTML, Plain Text or Both.

  5. Choose whether to Append the alarm information, generated by the Application module of IT360, to the Email.

  6. Click Create Action to finish. This will list the e-mail action name and its details, along with the other actions configured, in the 'View Actions' page.

You can perform the below tasks from the Action Profile Configuration wizard:

    1. Edit the action, by clicking the icon against the required E-mail Action.

    2. You can click Add New, for creating more email actions.

    3. Have a trial execution of the action. To do so, click the Execute icon , of that action.

    4. Delete the action, by clicking the Delete link. (After selecting the respective action's check box).

Note: The Subject and Message of the e-mail action can be further enhanced by using Replaceable Tags. Further, you can edit the EMail template by changing <mail.html> file present in the <Adventnet_home>/ME/IT360/appmanager/working/conf directory. Restart IT360 on changing <mail.html>.
