Adding Custom Monitors

This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Probes only) and MSP Edition (Probes only).

In addition to IT360's default monitors (for devices), you can also create your own monitors for the SNMP-enabled devices in your network. The SNMP variable, for which you intend to configure a monitor, can return either a numeric or string output, when queried.

To add a custom monitor for a resource of a particular device type, the device template must be modified. The new monitor should be defined in the device template, so that the monitor is associated for all the devices of that type.

The following topics are discussed here:

  1. Adding a custom monitor
  2. Viewing devices & custom monitors
  3. An example for adding a custom monitor
  4. Video on how to add a custom monitor
