How to force users to change their password at the next logon?

Objective: To make the users whose password will be expiring soon and also those who have not changed their password during the specified time period to change their passwords in their next logon.

Solution: Use the Soon-to-Expire User Passwords and Password unchanged users report to identify the relevant users and use the built-in management option in the report to enforce the change password at next logon condition.

Using Soon-to-Expire User Passwords report to enforce 'change password at next logon'

1. Click the Reports tab.
2. Go to Password Reports. Under Password Status Reports, click the Soon-to-Expire User Passwords report.
3. Select the Domains for which you wish to generate this report. Restrict this report to specific OUs using the Add OUs link.
4. Select the time period for which you wish to and hit the Generate button to view this report.
5. Once the report is generated, select the necessary users.
6. Click the Change Password at Next Logon button located right above the report data. In the confirmation message that is displayed, click OK to complete this action.

Using Password Unchanged Users report to enforce 'change password at next logon'

1. Click the Reports tab.
2. Go to Password Reports. Under Password Status Reports, click the Password Unchanged Users report.
