How to create new users in Active Directory by copying attributes of an existing user?

Objective: Create a new user account in Active Directory by copying the account details of an existing user.

Solution: ADManager Plus allows you to copy the attributes of an existing user while creating a new user account in Active Directory

Using single user creation

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Go to Management → User Management → Create Single User
• In the single user creation layout, click Copy User Attributes link at the top right corner.
• In the pop-up window, browse through the user accounts and select the desired account whose attributes have to be copied. To select specific attributes of the user, click the icon next to the user account and choose the desired attributes and click OK. A preview of the selected attributes and their values will be displayed. Click Apply.
• All the selected user attributes will be populated in the fields. You can choose to modify the fields, if necessary and click Create.

Using user creation template

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Go to Management → User Management → User Creation Templates.
• Click Create New Template from the top right corner. In the layout, enter a suitable template name, description and select the domain.
• Click Copy User Attributes button at the top right corner.
• In the pop-up window, browse through the user accounts and select the desired account whose attributes have to be copied. To select specific attributes of the user, click the icon next to the user account and choose the desired attributes and click OK. A preview of the selected attributes and their values will be displayed. Click Apply.
• All the selected user attributes will be populated in the fields. You can choose to modify the fields, if necessary and click Create Template.
