Bulk password reset for Active Directory (AD) user accounts

Objective: To explain how to perform password reset in one go for multiple users in Active Directory(AD) using ADManager Plus.

The native AD tools do not offer any option to reset multiple passwords at once, and administrators use complex PowerShell scripts to perform such bulk management actions. With its built-in password reset feature, ADManager Plus makes the bulk password reset operation a simple, point-and-click activity.

Steps:

• Logon to ADManager Plus and click the Management tab.
• Go to the User Management section and select the Reset Password feature under the Bulk User Modification section.
• Under the Reset password section, select any of the following options for generating new passwords:
  • Generate password (for generating a random password)
  • Type a password
  • Same as user logon name
  • Leave password blank
• Based on your needs you can set different Password options which prompts the user to change the password at the next logon, prevents users from changing the password or allows the password to never expire.
• Specify the users whose passwords need to be reset using any of these options:
  • CSV Import which allows you to fetch the required list of users.
  • Built-in search to locate the required users.
• Click Apply for the changes to take place.
