How to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Office 365 users?

Objective: Configure multi-factor authentication for users in your Office 365 environment.

Solution:

ADManager Plus' enforce multi-factor authentication feature allows you to set up and enable MFA for Office 365 users, in bulk, and also specify the MFA methods they can use, beside setting any one of those as the default method, easily without using PowerShell

To set up MFA for your Office 365 users through ADManager Plus,

1. Click the Office 365 tab.
2. On the left pane, click Management.
3. Go to Azure Active Directory → User Management.
4. Under Bulk User Modification, click MFA Settings.
5. In the MFA Settings page,
   • Select Enforce, from the options listed beside MFA settings, to enforce the settings for the users being specified.
   • Specify the MFA techniques that your users can use by selecting the desired ones in Allowed MFA Methods field.
   • Set the authentication technique that should be default using the Default MFA Method.

   In the Find Users to Modify section,

   • Select the desired Office 365 Tenant.
   • List the users for whom you wish to enforce these settings in the Select Users field.
     You can also use the built-in search option to find the desired users.
   • Click Find to list all the required users.
6. Select the desired users from the list, and click Apply to update the MFA settings for the selected users in Office 365.
