How to notify administrators about password expired Active Directory users?

Objective: To inform Windows Active Directory administrators about the users whose passwords have expired so that they can perform then next course of action.

Solution: Use ADManager Plus' report scheduler to specify a time for Password Expired Users report to be generated and emailed to administrator.

ADManager Plus also displays the password expired users count in the Dashboard. By clicking the 'Password Expired Users' link, administrators can view the details of all the password expired users.

Steps to schedule the Password Expire Users report

1. Click the Reports tab.
2. Go to Password Reports and click the Scheduled Reports link.
3. In the Schedule Report screen, click the Create Schedule link.
4. In the create new schedule screen, enter a suitable name and description for this schedule.
5. Select the Domains for which you wish to generate this report. Restrict this report to specific OUs using the Add OUs link.
6. In Select Report, select Password Reports, and select the Password Expired Users report.
7. In the new window that opens up, select the Exclude Disabled Users option if needed.
   • Click the More Options link to select the fields (columns) that must be displayed in the report.
   • Use the Refine Result option to restrict this report to specific users. For example, you can run this report only for the users in a specific department.
   • Click OK.
8. Select the time at which the Password Expired Users must be generated.
9. Pick the preferred format in Schedule Report Format.
10. Enter the email of the administrator and also the other relevant users such as IT managers to whom this report must be emailed.
11. Click Save to save this schedule. If you wish to save this schedule and also execute it once immediately, hit the Save & Run button.
