Microsoft Azure Event System Grid Topic - An Overview

Azure Event Grid System Topic monitoring helps track event publishing, delivery performance, server delivery success rate, latency, event processing metrics including matched, unmatched, dropped, and dead lettered events, along with advanced filter evaluations, to optimize event routing for your Azure resources.

This help page explains how to monitor Azure Event Grid System Topic performance in Applications Manager and how to review the metrics that help you identify publishing issues, delivery failures, and event processing bottlenecks.

Monitored Parameters

Navigate to the Category View by clicking the Monitors tab. Hover over Child Monitors under Microsoft Azure in the Cloud Apps table, and then select the Event Grid System Topics monitor from the displayed tooltip. This action displays the bulk configuration view for Azure Event Grid System Topic in three tabs:

  • Availability tab gives the availability history for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
  • Performance tab gives the health status and events for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
  • List view enables you to perform bulk admin configurations.

Successful Publish LatencyThe total latency for successfully published events to the Azure Event Grid System Topic between the poll intervals (in ms).
DESTINATION PROCESSING DURATION
Destination Processing DurationThe average time taken by the destination to process events for the Azure Event Grid System Topic between the poll intervals (in ms).
EVENT PROCESSING
Matched EventsThe total number of events that matched event subscriptions for the Azure Event Grid System Topic between the poll intervals.
Unmatched EventsThe total number of events that did not match any of the event subscriptions for the Azure Event Grid System Topic between the poll intervals.
Dropped EventsThe total number of dropped events that matched event subscriptions for the Azure Event Grid System Topic between the poll intervals.
Dead Lettered EventsThe total number of dead lettered events that matched event subscriptions for the Azure Event Grid System Topic between the poll intervals.
