IBM App Connect Enterprise Monitoring

Overview

The IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) Node serves as a parent monitor to the IBM App Connect Enterprise Servers, providing a centralized view of the ACE environment. It oversees multiple ACE Servers, managing integration processes and ensuring smooth communication between applications. The ACE Node offers insights into the overall health and performance of the environment, making it easier to track server status, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues effectively.

Creating a new IBM App Connect Enterprise monitor

To learn how to create a new IBM ACE Node and Server monitor, follow the steps given below:

  1. Click on New Monitor link.
  2. Select IBM App Connect Enterprise.
  3. Enter a Display Name for the monitor.
  4. Enter the Host Name of the server on which Integration Node is running.
  5. Provide the Port at which the Integration Node is running. The default port is 4414.
  6. Add the Credential Details credentials of the Node user with Admin privileges.
  7. Select the SSL is enabled box if SSL is enabled in IBM App Connect Enterprise.
  8. Click on the Enable Event Log Monitoring option if you want to monitor Event Logs.
  9. Under Integration Server Discovery, choose one of the following options based on your monitoring needs:
    • Do not discover: Servers will not be discovered. Only existing Integration Servers can be monitored.
    • Discover Integration Server but do not monitor metrics: Discovers IBM ACE Integration Servers without monitoring metrics (does not count towards licensing). In the Apply Discovery Filter field, use a Regex Pattern to filter IBM ACE Integration Servers. Only servers matching the regex will be added.
    • Discover and monitor Integration Server: Discovers IBM ACE Integration Servers and monitors both availability and performance for Nodes and Servers. In the Apply Discovery Filter field, use a Regex Pattern to filter IBM ACE Integration Servers. Only servers matching the regex will be added.
  10. Specify the Discovery Interval in minutes for the automatic discovery and monitoring of Integration Servers.
  11. Enter the polling interval time in minutes.
  12. Choose the Monitor Group from the combo box with which you want to associate the IBM App Connect Enterprise Monitor (optional). You can choose multiple groups to associate your monitor.
  13. Click Add Monitor(s). This discovers IBM App Connect Enterprise from the network and starts monitoring them.

Monitored Parameters

Go to the Monitors Category View by clicking the Monitors tab. Click on the IBM App Connect Enterprise instance in the Middleware/Portal section. Displayed below is the IBM App Connect Enterprise bulk configuration view distributed into three tabs:

  • Availability tab gives the availability history for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
  • Performance tab gives the health status and events for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
  • List view tab enables you to perform bulk admin configurations.

By clicking on the respective monitor name from the list, you'll be taken to the IBM App Connect Enterprise dashboard. Click on the IBM App Connect Enterprise monitor to see all the metrics listed under the following tabs:
