Monitor Group Widgets


Monitor group widgets summarize an entire monitor group, rather than individual monitors, on a dashboard. Use them to build management-level views of applications, business services, or sites that are organized as monitor groups, business views, or topology/geographic maps.

Applications Manager groups seven widgets under this category.

Availability and Health Status

Shows a current-status snapshot for one or more monitor groups. This is the monitor-group-scoped counterpart of Availability & Health Status - Multiple Monitors.

Configuration options

OptionDescription
Widget NameName that appears on the dashboard for this widget.
DescriptionOptional text to describe the widget's purpose.
Show Monitor Groups FromAll Monitor Groups, or a configured custom field expression to pick a dynamic subset of monitor groups.
Include SubgroupsIncludes child (sub) monitor groups of the selected groups, shown once a custom field expression is chosen.
Show Today's AvailabilityAdds a column showing each monitor group's availability for the current day.
Show Monitors StatusAdds a rollup of member monitor statuses. Visible only to Enterprise/MSP administrators.
Exclude unmanaged Monitor GroupsLeaves unmanaged monitor groups out of the snapshot.
Severities to includeOnly Critical or Warning and Critical, controls which severities count toward the group's status.

Business View Widget

Embeds an existing Business View, a logical, drag-and-drop layout of monitors and monitor groups representing a business service, directly inside a dashboard cell.

Available Business ViewsChoose one of the Business Views already created for your monitor groups.

Note: If no Business Views have been configured yet, the dropdown shows No Business Views Configured and the widget cannot be saved until one is created.

Last 24 Hours / 30 Days Availability History

Plots the availability history of one or more monitor groups over a selected time period as a graph.

Configuration options

Select Time PeriodTime range for the history graph: Last 1/3/6/12 hours, Last 24 hours, Today, Yesterday, This week, Last 7 days, Last week, This month, Last 30 days, or Last month.
Show Additional OptionsReveals Show Duration (add an Uptime/Downtime duration column), Exclude Full Availability (hide monitor groups that were up for the entire period), and Show Availability Percentage Chart (add a percentage-availability chart alongside the history graph).
Show Monitor Groups FromAll Monitor Groups or a configured custom field expression.

Last 24 Hours / 30 Days Health History

The health counterpart of the availability history widget. Plots the health trend of one or more monitor groups over a chosen time period as a graph.

Monitor Groups - Tree View

Displays your monitor groups as an expandable tree, with each node color-coded by severity, so you can drill from a high-level rollup down into a specific group's members.

Show Monitor Groups FromAll Monitor Groups or a configured custom field expression.
Select severityMulti-select of health severities (Critical, Warning, Clear, Unknown) used to color-code each node in the tree.
Sort ByOrder the monitor groups in the tree.
Show TopMaximum number of monitor groups to display (10, 25, 50, 100, 250, or All).

Topology Map View

Embeds an existing Topology Map, a network/dependency-style layout of monitors, directly inside a dashboard cell.

Configuration options

Available Topology MapsChoose one of the topology maps already created for your monitor groups.

Note: If no topology maps exist yet, the dropdown shows No topology maps added and the widget cannot be saved until one is created.

World Map View

Plots monitor groups on a world map, color-coded by severity. Useful when monitor groups represent geographically distributed sites, data centers, or offices.

Show Monitor Groups FromAll Monitor Groups or a configured custom field expression. At least one monitor group must be selected.
